The onboarding checklist
Once the setup wizard has been finished or skipped, the Dashboard can show a Finish setting up card tracking the five optional extras — region, branding, AI, address lookup and email — that weren’t completed at the time.
What it is
The card lists Region & locale, Branding, AI assistance, Address lookup and Email (SMTP), each badged Done, Skipped or Not set up. It only appears once the wizard itself is finished or skipped (it never stacks with the wizard’s own resume banner) and only while at least one item still isn’t done. Four of the five items check the organisation’s live settings directly — so finishing one in Settings later marks it done here too, even if you never reopen the wizard — while region has no such live signal and simply reflects what you chose or skipped in the wizard itself.
How to do it
- On the Dashboard, find the Finish setting up card.
- Select any item to jump straight to its Settings section: branding, AI, address lookup (data sources) or notifications.
- Once every item shows Done, the card stops appearing on its own.
- To stop seeing it regardless of what’s left, select Dismiss — this is permanent for your organisation, not just for you.
How it integrates
Each item’s Done state is derived live from the same organisation fields the corresponding Settings section writes — branding from your logo/accent colour, AI from your configured provider, address lookup from whether an Ordnance Survey key is set, email from whether SMTP is configured. There is no separate “wizard-only” record of these settings; the card and the Settings sections it links to are two views of the one truth.
Common problems
- I finished branding directly in Settings but the card still shows Skipped. It shouldn’t — branding, AI, address lookup and email all check the live setting; if it still reads wrong, refresh the Dashboard.
- I dismissed the card by mistake and want it back. There’s no undo for dismissal — the individual Settings sections it pointed to (Branding, AI, Data sources, Notifications) are still there and unaffected.
- Region shows Skipped even though I set a currency later. Region has no live check — it only reflects what happened in the wizard itself, not a later change made elsewhere.
