General
Settings → General holds your organisation’s display name and a read-only summary of its plan, seats and identity — the first place to check when something looks like it belongs to the wrong organisation.
What it is
General is the smallest section in Settings: one editable field (display name) and a read-only summary table (organisation ID, type, data region, plan, licensed seats, created date, and the portal build version you’re currently running). Everything else — logo, colours, capture rules — lives in its own dedicated section elsewhere in Settings.
How to do it
- Open Settings → General.
- Edit Display name and click Save — the new name appears everywhere in the portal and field app immediately.
- Use the summary table to check your organisation ID (quote it exactly if you ever contact support), plan tier, licensed seat count, data region, and portal version.
- If you administer more than one organisation, a card here (hidden for demo organisations) offers a shortcut to founding a further one, capped at five self-founded organisations per person.
How it integrates
The display name is the only field this section writes; every other row is read-only here because it changes elsewhere — plan and seats change under Settings → Billing, and data region and organisation ID are fixed at creation and never editable afterwards. The portal version shown corresponds to the build you’re actually running, useful to quote alongside a support request or when checking whether a recently released feature has reached your organisation yet.
Common problems
- Save is disabled even though I typed a new name. The button only activates once the text differs from the current saved name and isn’t empty.
- The organisation ID looks unfamiliar. It’s generated once at creation from your organisation’s name and never changes afterwards.
- I can’t find where to change plan or seats. That’s under Settings → Billing, not General — General only shows those values, it doesn’t set them.
- I don’t see the “found another organisation” card. It’s hidden entirely for demo organisations, and disappears once you already administer five organisations of your own.
