Deleting your own account
Any signed-in person can erase their own account, self-service, from every organisation they belong to — with no ticket and no waiting period.
What it is
Deleting your account redacts your personal details — display name and email — on every membership record you hold across every organisation you’re a member of, marks each disabled, deletes your personal calendar-feed token, and then deletes your sign-in account outright. Sealed evidence you created is not deleted along with it: a finalised survey or remediation record you captured survives, keyed only by your account’s opaque identifier, never by your name or email once those have been redacted from your membership record.
How to do it
- Open My account under Settings.
- Choose Delete my account and confirm.
- You’re signed out immediately once it completes — the action can’t be undone or reversed afterwards.
How it integrates
This is an account action, not an organisation action — it runs the same way whether you belong to one organisation or several, and needs no one else’s approval. It’s distinct from an organisation deleting itself (see Deleting the organisation) and from a manager simply removing your membership — either of those is something someone else does to your access; this is something only you can do, to your own account, everywhere it exists. Your evidence records surviving under an opaque identifier is a deliberate choice, not an oversight: their value as evidence would be undermined if they could quietly vanish because the person who captured them separately deleted their own sign-in.
Common problems
- I deleted my account but a survey I captured still shows a record. That’s expected — the sealed record survives keyed by your account’s opaque id; your name and email are redacted from your membership record, not stripped from evidence that’s already been finalised.
- I want to delete my account but keep working under a different email. There’s no merge or transfer path — deletion is final; if you need continued access, ask an administrator to update your email on your membership record instead of deleting the account.
- Someone else deleted my account, apparently by mistake. They couldn’t have — this action only ever operates on the signed-in caller’s own account; check whether an administrator instead removed your organisation membership, which is a separate, reversible action.
