Deleting the organisation
Deleting the organisation is a two-step, self-service action — typed confirmation now, a 90-day cancellable window, then a permanent purge — with no ticket and no waiting for anyone at ProSurvey Apps.
What it is
Requesting deletion schedules your organisation for permanent erasure 90 days out. Nothing is removed immediately — every survey, work order, property, member and sealed record stays exactly as it was for the whole window, and you can keep working normally throughout it, though doing so isn’t the point: this is a countdown to erasure, not a suspension. Cancelling at any point before the window ends stops it completely, with nothing lost.
Before you start
Requesting deletion needs you to be the organisation’s literal Owner — an org-admin, even with full Settings access, cannot request or cancel it. Running a full data export first is worth doing before you request deletion, since the purge is permanent once the window passes — see Exporting everything your organisation holds.
How to do it
- Open Settings → Data & exports.
- Type your organisation’s exact name to confirm, then click Request organisation deletion.
- To change your mind at any point in the 90 days, return to the same page and click Cancel deletion request — this fully reverses the schedule, with nothing left in a partial state.
- Once the window passes, the purge runs automatically on the next scheduled sweep — there’s nothing further to do.
How it integrates
The purge removes your organisation’s Firestore records and Storage files together — every survey, work order, property, member record, contractor grant, notification and configuration override — and releases any SSO domain claim your organisation held, so that domain can be claimed by a different organisation afterwards. Audit history from before the purge is not retained under your organisation once it’s gone — it’s erased along with everything else, since there’s no organisation left for it to describe. This is genuinely different from an individual deleting their own account (see Deleting your own account), which redacts one person’s details without touching the organisation itself.
Common problems
- I can’t find “Request organisation deletion” anywhere. It’s shown only to the account’s literal Owner, on the Data & exports page — an org-admin doesn’t see it, even with full Settings access.
- I typed the organisation name and it was refused. It must match exactly, including case and punctuation — copy it from your organisation’s own name under General settings rather than retyping it.
- I requested deletion by mistake and I’m worried it’s already run. Check the page for a Cancel deletion request option — it stays available for the full 90 days; if you can still see the request pending, it hasn’t run yet.
