Internal target deadlines

Internal target deadlines let you set your own acknowledge/investigate/remedy timeframes for jobs that carry no statutory clock at all, plus per-hazard overrides where one hazard needs a different target than the rest.

What it is

General/routine work orders (jobType “general”) have no Awaab’s Law statutory clock — before this feature, they carried no date expectation whatsoever. General / routine job targets sets whole-day acknowledge/investigate/remedy targets counted from when the job was reported, shown as a “target” badge in Work Orders and the Dashboard — never as a statutory deadline, and never confused with one in the interface. Per-hazard targets lets you override those general targets for one hazard type at a time — asbestos surveyed within 7 days and remedied within 30, for example, with something different again for radon.

How to do it

1. Open Settings → Capture policy and scroll to General / routine job targets.
2. Enter whole days for Acknowledge within, Investigate within and Remedy within — leave any field blank to skip that stage’s target. Each field saves as you leave it.
3. To set a different target for one hazard type, scroll to Per-hazard targets, add the hazard, and enter its own day counts.
4. Use a hazard row’s remove control to delete its override — that hazard reverts to the general targets above.

How it integrates

Asbestos is the clearest case for a per-hazard target: the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 sets no Awaab’s Law clock at all, so without an internal target an asbestos job would carry no date expectation whatsoever. These targets never carry statutory weight and never suppress or replace a real Awaab’s Law deadline — a job with a genuine statutory clock keeps that clock regardless of what’s set here. Targets render in Work Orders and the Dashboard’s due-soon list with a “target” badge, kept visually distinct from the “statutory” badge a real Awaab’s Law deadline uses.

Common problems

• A target isn’t showing on a job. Targets only apply to general/routine jobs (or a hazard’s own override) — a job with a real statutory clock shows that instead, never a target alongside it.
• I set a per-hazard target but a general job I raised doesn’t use it. Per-hazard targets apply only to jobs raised under that specific hazard type — a general/routine job with no hazard type always uses the general targets.
• I want this to be a real deadline, not a target. It can’t be — these are internal planning aids only. A real statutory clock is calculated automatically wherever Awaab’s Law applies; see How the statutory clock works.
