Subscribing to your calendar feed

Who can do thisPermission: scheduling ≥ 1

Anyone with live scheduling access can mint a personal calendar link and subscribe to it from their own phone or desktop calendar app — a read-only feed of their assigned jobs.

What it is

The feed is per-person and read-only: it lists your own currently open, accepted, scheduled or in-progress jobs, each with the property address and, where relevant, an all-day entry for its statutory investigate-by deadline so it’s never missed. Jobs with a scheduled time appear at that time with a one-hour reminder; jobs with no slot yet simply don’t appear until one is set. The feed reads your live permissions on every request, so access is revoked the moment your scheduling or work-order permission is, not just the next time you mint a new link.

How to do it

  1. In the capture app, or from the setup wizard’s field-app step, select Create my calendar link.
  2. Copy the generated URL.
  3. In your phone or desktop calendar app, use its “Subscribe to calendar” or “Add calendar from URL” option and paste the link.
  4. Your assigned jobs and their statutory deadlines appear alongside your existing calendars, refreshing on whatever schedule your calendar app uses for subscribed feeds.
  5. To revoke the old link and get a fresh one, mint again — the previous link stops working immediately.

How it integrates

The feed only ever shows jobs assigned directly to you; it carries no organisation-wide view and no way to see anyone else’s schedule. It draws from the same live work-order data the portal’s own Schedule view shows, so a reassignment or reschedule appears here on your calendar app’s own next refresh, with no separate sync step. This is a one-way, read-only feed — there is no way to create, move or accept a job from within your calendar app itself; do that in the field app or the portal.

Common problems

  • A job I was just assigned hasn’t appeared in my calendar app yet. Subscribed calendar feeds refresh on their own schedule, often hourly rather than instantly — check the job appears in the field app first, then give your calendar app time to catch up.
  • My old link still seems to work after I minted a new one. It shouldn’t — minting again immediately invalidates the previous link; if your calendar app cached the old data, remove and re-add the subscription.
  • The feed shows nothing at all. Confirm you actually have live work-order and scheduling access — if either was recently changed, the feed reflects that immediately, not just the data you expected to see.
