App configuration: Survey content
Survey content sets your organisation’s standard legal disclaimer and scope-of-survey wording, and turns the extended form-parity inspection sections on or off.
What it is
Legal disclaimer has its own dedicated on/off switch — independent of the “Legal Disclaimer” checkbox on Data collection’s report-sections list, both need to agree for the section to disappear entirely — plus optional standard wording that pre-fills every new survey. Scope of survey is the equivalent standard wording for a survey’s scope section. Extended inspection sections is one toggle adding property information, per-room ventilation detail, a building-defects checklist and remedial-referral capture to the wizard, plus decant/wash-down actions on the case in Work Orders.
How to do it
- Open Settings → App configuration → Survey content.
- Toggle Show the legal disclaimer section, and optionally write standard wording in the text box below it — every new survey starts pre-filled with it.
- Click Build with options / AI to open the same clause-picker-plus-AI-polish builder the field app uses, if you’d rather assemble the wording than type it from scratch.
- Write your standard Scope of survey wording the same way, with its own builder.
- Toggle Extended inspection sections on or off, then click Save changes.
How it integrates
Both standard-wording fields are read-only in the field app by default once set, since they’re your organisation’s approved text — grant a surveyor edit access via the matching toggle in Capture policy. Leaving a field blank lets each surveyor write their own from scratch instead. A scope of survey pushed on a specific work order still takes precedence over this default. Turning Extended inspection sections off hides those sections for new surveys and cases only — anything already captured on an existing sealed record or report is unaffected.
Common problems
- My standard disclaimer text isn’t appearing on new surveys. Confirm Show the legal disclaimer section is switched on — the text box only applies while that’s enabled.
- A surveyor edited the disclaimer wording and I didn’t expect that. Check Capture policy for a per-field surveyor-editable override — the disclaimer and scope text are read-only in the field app by default until one is granted.
- I turned off Extended inspection sections and old records lost their data. They haven’t — this only changes what’s captured for new surveys and cases from now on; anything already sealed stays exactly as recorded.
