The capture app
I'm the surveyor on site.
- Installing and signing inSigning in to the capture app by email or by tenant login, and switching between organisations if you carry out work for more than one.
- Your job listWhat appears on your home screen, the statutory summary, search and filters, and logging an access attempt or a note for the office.
- Working offline and syncingWhat works with no signal, what needs a connection, and how sealed evidence stays tamper-evident whether it syncs immediately or hours later.
- Photos, geotagging and the photo policyHow a photo is timestamped, hashed and geotagged at capture, the GPS gate, captions and markup, and your organisation's photo policy for hazards.
- Survey details and resident intake in the appWhat the first wizard step shows in the field — what's editable, what's pushed from the office, and why.
- Outside the building: weather, soil, drainage and external analysisThe three outdoor wizard steps — recorded weather and orientation, soil and drainage, and the external elevations of the property.
- Rooms, readings and psychrometricsAdding a room, the readings you take, wall readings, the calculated psychrometric values, ventilation detail and the mould risk matrix.
- Condensation and U-value analysisThe Glaser-method interstitial condensation and U-value screening tool: what it calculates, the standards it cites, and its limits.
- Floor plans, EPC, narrative review and executive summaryThe four wrap-up steps before conclusions: drawing or AR-scanning a floor plan, EPC details, reviewing report narrative, and the summary.
- Remedial recommendations and scope of worksRecording your remedial outcomes, then picking priced scope-of-works items from your organisation's rate catalogue — you never enter a price.
- Sign-off and finalisingSigning off as surveyor, the resident's signature or a recorded decline, the requirements check, required sections, and what Finalise actually does.
- Voice dictationDictating into any free-text field with your device's own speech recognition, what it needs on iOS, and talking through a whole room.
- In-app settings, the survey guide, and reference materialThe Settings screen's real scope, the workflow guide, the offline standards reference, and viewing a sealed record on your device.
- The operative's works-jobs experienceWhat an operative sees in the app instead of the survey wizard, and what completing a works job requires: a GPS fix and at least one photo.
- Running a survey, hazard by hazardHow a survey flows on-site from opening an assigned job to sealing the evidence, and how the modules differ by hazard type.
- Victoria rental minimum standardsFor housing providers in Victoria, Australia: record each of the 15 rental minimum standards with photos and a comment, printed as its own report section.
